Music of NOLA Walking Tour
Walk (or dance) your way through Tremé, one of the oldest and most musical neighborhoods of New Orleans. Learn about the great musical legends of New Orleans then and now: from Jelly Roll Morton to Mahalia Jackson, Fats Domino to Trombone Shorty and the Marsalis family. From the music of slavery, to traditional jazz, to the industrial rock of the 1990s, gain a greater understanding of the different musical genres that make this city and nation great.
The tour provided by French Quarter Phantoms. It meets and begins at The Voodoo Lounge (718 N. Rampart Street) and ends at the corner of Rampart and Governor Nicholls Streets. The tour is approximately 2 hours long, travels about one mile, and is appropriate for all ages.
