A Call for Recipes
To pay tribute to Black History Month and the New Orleans Tricentennial, the New Orleans Public Library is gathering formulas and the stories behind them for a group cookbook celebrating 300 years of African-American impact on New Orleans food.
Please email recipes and stories to adultprograms@nolalibrary.org or bring them to any Library location by Wednesday, February 28.
Supporters will be welcome to share their dish at a potluck on Wednesday, February 21 at Martin Luther King Library at 4:30pm. Promptly following, Zella Palmer, chair of the Dillard University Ray Charles Program in African American Material Culture, will give a discussion about the African roots of Louisiana’s Creole food.
